Sticky Asian meatballs easy version recipe

Asian meatballs with soy sauce are probably one of the easiest recipe ever.
So good to make to when you are having a themed night dinner with your friends!

Easy and delicious, these sticky asian meatballs requires less than 20 minutes to be ready.

These are actually quite different from the usual sticky Chinese meatballs
You can almost call it healthy asian meatballs, as in fact the amount of soy sauce and sugar is drastically reduced.
I have not used any honey or syrup in this either.

Despite being a light version, these easy asian meatballs will conquer your attention for sure.
So good and tasty that you’ll eat them all in one go.

What to serve with Asian meatballs?

I always have these spicy garlicky meatballs served with both fried rice and a side of vegetables stir fry. All homemade of course.

asian meatballsIngredients for about 20 sticky asian meatballs

200gr beef minced meat
1 egg
1tbsp minced fresh ginger
1tbsp minced fresh garlic
chopped spring onions
oregano
smoked paprika
salt
black pepper
2tbsp sugar
light soy sauce
dark soy sauce
toasted sesame seeds oil

 

Sticky Asian meatballs – Cooking method

 

Put the beef minced meat into a large bowl, crack one egg open and add it to the meat.

Get 1 garlic clove and chop it very finely, it will be about 1tbsp, then add it to the bowl.

Peel about 1 inch of fresh ginger and with a very sharp knife chop it very small.
You could also grate it if it’s easier for you.
Add the ginger to the meat.

Get one teaspoon of each of the spices, and add one by one to the bowl.

Time to mix it up.
Give it a good mix so the the spices are distributed evenly.

Shape your spicy asian meatballs.
I have made them only tiny, cos it cooks quicker and they look cuter that way.

Once you have all your asian meatballs ready, it’s time to put some good amout of vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat, and let it reach the right temperature.

Add one by one the asian meatballs in the frying pan, and fry until they get that nice brown color.
Lay on kitchen paper towel to dry out excess oil.

In another frying pan pour some light soy sauce, about 9/10 tbsp.
Add 2tbsp of white sugar, 2 tbsp of dark soy sauce, 2 tbsp of toasted sesame seeds oil and stir.

Let the sugar melt up a little, then put the asian meatballs in the pan and toss to cover all of them with the soy sauce.

One the sauce is thick and sticks to the meatballs you can take it out of the pan and serve.
Sprinkle the top with some freshly chopped spring onions or some toasted sesame seed even.
