How to make chicken parmesan – easy recipe
Chicken parma, parm, parmo or mostly known as chicken parmesan.. italian sounding name for a non italian recipe.
Right ok I don’t want to sound too fussy here but there’s just loads and loads of cases where recipes or foods are just given a fancy fancy name just cos it sounds cool.
I can tell you that half of the recipes that in the world are believed to be italian by regular people, don’t even exsist in Italy.
No I am not talking about traditional italian food being a fake claim.
If italian garlic bread sounds familiar then i guess you understood what I am saying.
Nothing wrong with being creative with names of course. I think there’s just a need for more culinary culture though.
This being said, I have no idea of who invented the name for this recipe, but I know one thing about this chicken: it’s damn good!
Everybody cooks it differently. People who use cheddar, other stuff it with bacon.
I have done this chicken parma with my personal style.
Cooked twice for extra taste, baked in a special way to keep the meat tender and juicy, this chicken parm recipe is probably the easiest on the web. I choose the ingredients that are closer to my liking and that I think make this dish taste even better if that is possible.

Ingredients for 2 serves chicken parma
2 chicken breasts
180gr fresh buffalo mozzarella
100gr grated mozzarella
fresh cherry tomatoes
fresh basil leaves
200ml marinara sauce
1tsp garlic powder
How to make chicken parmesan?
Start by cutting the chicken breasts horizontally. Don’t cut them totally open, but instead in a way to crate a sort of pocket.
Slice up your mozzarella. With one 180gr mozzarella you will get 6 slices.
Wash and slice the tomatoes as well.
I have used and suggest you to use cherry tomatoes because they are small and more practical.
Fill each chicken parma with 3 slices of mozzarella, sliced cherry tomatoes and some basil leaves.
In a bowl mix the breadcrumbs, 1tsp of garlic powder, pinch of oregano, salt and black pepper. Mix all together with a fork and then dip the chicken parma breasts in it. This recipe does not provide the use of egg wash so make sure to cover all parts of the chicken with the breadcrumbs, on both sides.
Spread some butter on the bottom of a tray and lay the chicken breasts in it.
Set the oven to 200C and cook the chicken for about 15 minutes.
After this time open the oven and take the tray out.
Flip the chicken parma breasts on the other side, cover with marinara sauce, shredded mozzarella and some more chopped basil leaves.
Put back in the oven for 10/15 more minutes.
At this point the chicken parmesan will be perfectly cooked inside, but gorgeously tender and juicy, cheesy out side and ready to be eaten in one go!
Enjoy your chicken parmesan with a side of salad or fries, or why not both?
